In this post I will write about PTV Vissim traffic simulation software in general.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PTV Group is a leading global software company for traffic planning, simulation, and real-time management.\u00a0
The firm has more than 40 years of experience in the fields of mobility, the Germany-based company provides software products based on proprietary algorithms ranging from microscopic and macroscopic modeling and simulation of traffic to real-time traffic management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The software allows you to select any location to create a simulation. Real conditions can be created by adjusting the smallest details. You can specify the types of vehicles (e.g. passenger car, bus, motorbike), their number per hour, their speed, their direction of travel. <\/p>\n\n\n

You can set up the signal head’s signal program and create signal groups. Than you will be able to insert them to the simulated intersection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The previous pictures show a model of one of the busiest intersections in Miskolc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A detector can be inserted into the simulation, where you can define which types of vehicles are detected.
You can insert a pedestrian crossing and pedestrians. You can run the simulation at any stage of your work to test how it works. You are able to run either 2D or 3D simulations. Of course the 3D version more visual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The software also has several extension options, such as the VisVap module, COM interface. The model can also be extended by programming, giving you even more possibilities to improve your simulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
